it isn't notarized by Apple, so the first time you open it macOS stops it. then:

  1. open System Settings → Privacy & Security
  2. scroll down and click Open Anyway next to sodalite
  3. confirm with your password. after that it opens normally

the app tells you when a new version is out; download it here and drag it over the old one.
